Taking workwear to new heights

Halo are proud to announce the launch of our latest transmedia campaign for Scruffs Workwear.

‘MASTERS AT WORK. MASTERS OF WORKWEAR’ celebrates and champions trades people, applauding the skill and commitment of the unsung heroes of the UK economy, putting them in partnership with the fastest growing performance workwear brand on the market.  After months of planning and production, working alongside multiple media stakeholders, we’ve delivered a unique, integrated campaign for the brand, giving a daring new perspective to site work and creating real-life brand ambassadors who embody the Scruffs ethos of technical mastery.

And what better way to show off a leading technical performance workwear brand than putting it (and ourselves) to the test in some of the UK’s most perilous work environments? We battled the elements on top of the Severn Bridge, shooting the campaign’s sweat-inducing ‘Masters of Vertigo’ 360° online video. Literally putting you on top of the world, you can watch from all angles as engineers embark on their perilous 445ft climb up a suspension cable to the top. And you thought your commute to work was stressful…

Of course for a large number of tradespeople, the radio, not a safety harness, is an essential piece of kit in their ‘toolbox’ and we knew we needed to hit this platform hard within the campaign. So we arranged for Scruffs masters-themed radio ads to be broadcast on TalkSport, Radio X, Heart, Smooth FM – we even have the legendary TalkSPORT presenter, Big Al, voicing one of them! 

Make sure to also check out the Scruffs ‘takeover’ competition page on the TalkSPORT website for the chance to win a Samsung home cinema kit and Sky Sports package. You can thank us later.

And if you’re planning on doing any DIY soon, keep an eye out for one of the Scruffs digital ad vans showing off Scruffs’ ‘hero products’ alongside some of their master tradespeople. They will be based outside 27 key Scruffs dealers over the next 8 weeks. 

With this campaign, we wanted to build excitement around Scruffs, boosting customer awareness and engagement, and to position them as a forward-thinking, innovative performance brand. And with this Masters Campaign, we think we’ve nailed it!
